"You don’t get to call me a whore." - The Scandal version: an addict’s ramblings

I want to start this rambling by stating the following: I love Olivia Pope. She is the Queen. She is the HBIC. I am a gladiator, and I WILL follow her over a cliff. But this episode? I WANTED TO KILL HER.
Here’s why:
Throughout this last 4 episodes, Olivia made PERFECTLY CLEAR that the only thing she wants from Fitz right now is for him to let her go. THE MOMENT he does what she wants, she’s MAD at him? She’s HURT because he ACTUALLY listened to her? No. No love. I do not accept that.

“You don’t get to call me a whore. When I met you, I thought I had found the person that I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I was done. So all the boys, and all the bars, and all the obvious daddy issues, who cared? Because I was done. You left me. You chose Addison. I’m all glued back together now. I make no apologies for how I chose to repair what you broke. You don’t get to call me a whore.” – Meredith Grey

I LOVE this line. I LOVE THIS LINE. I love this line because is the simple truth. When you let someone go, when you decide you no longer want/can have that person in your life; That’s the exact moment when you stop having a say in that person’s life. It hurts, it sucks, it’s the worst, yes. BUT YOU DON’T GET TO CALL THEM WHORES! The way Olivia handled EVERYTHING in this episode was directly connected to the fact that she bought her own crap. She acted like he was moving on, letting her go. The problem? SHE ACTED LIKE SHE NEVER ASKED HIM TO. She acted like he was leaving her behind! She became the victim. She CHOSE to act like a victim. No. I will not accept that. Fitz time and time again has showed her that HE’S ALL IN. That SHE IS IT FOR HIM. I’m sorry; she doesn’t get to play the woman scorned!

Now, let me make another statement: I love Fitzgerald Thomas Grant III. He is FAPOTUS. He is PantyDropper #44. My BOO. People, HE IS THE FIRST REPUBLICAN I HAVE EVER LOVED. You know that this is true love!
Despite that, I have to admit (and pleeeeaaseee people don’t kill me for this): Did I WANT Fitz do get shot? NO!! NEVER!!  Did I forget to BREATHE SEEING TONY GOLDWYN HIT THE FLOOR? BET YOUR ASS I DID!!
But I’m kind of liking this…
You see, to me this is about making Olivia ADMIT the fact that she’s in love with Fitz and there is NOTHING she can do about that. She can’t just put on the white hat and say “It’s Handled!” in this one! Maybe this love is too much, it’s ALL CONSUMING and she’s afraid of that. I get it!! But ignoring it CLEARLY is not working, she HAS to do something different. Is the ONLY way she’ll be able to function.
When the love of your life, YOUR MAN, is is LITERALLY hanging on for dear life in a hospital bed, there’s no time for bullshit! Every single feeling you ever had and have for that person comes to the surface. She can’t hide from this. She may be able to hold it together for a while, but when it comes crashing, she’ll crash HARD.

Something may come up on the flashbacks next episode that will make me understand WHY she’s so gun shy of telling Fitz how she REALLY feels instead of just handling him. But for now I still feel like she’s a mother taking care of her teen boy who can’t make a decision for himself. Go watch last season’s finale if you don’t believe me.

But like I said last rambling, I am not worried. Olitz is so endgame is not even funny! Fitz’s not dying, they WILL eventually find their way back to each other (and I personally believe this shooting will have A LOT to do with this.), and we will have some sort of “happily ever after”. Well, as “happily ever after” as a Fixer and an ex-President can have…

Witch kind of sound pretty good to me… -goes off into daydreams… -
